In this study, the seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii in these cats was examined using a newly developed Gaussia luciferase immunoprecipitation system assay. Of 1,363 cats, 123 cats (9.0%) was positive for T. gondii. The prevalence was significantly different in different areas; among cats in the rural are...
متن کاملRelationship between aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage and climatic conditions in the subtropical region, Amami-Oshima, in Japan.
Epidemiological studies of the relationship between climate and the onset of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) have been reported in the temperate and subarctic latitudes. However, the relationship between the incidence of aneurysmal SAH and the climatic variations in the subtropical region remains uncertain. Epidemiological analysis requires study of an extremely isolated area. This stu...

Burying beetles (Silphidae, Nicrophorus) are hosts to a broad diversity of mites (Acari), including several species of Macrocheles Latreille, 1829 (Mesostigmata, Macrochelidae). The macrochelid fauna associated with silphids primarily in North America was surveyed; in total, 1659 macrochelids representing seven species were collected from 112 Nicrophorus beetles representing nine host species. ...
